Wolf's Head Lake Superior Circle Tour
2009 Rally & Tour Cancelled
June 4, 2009 - It is probable that the Wolf's Head Rally & Lake Superior Circle Tour may come back in 2010. We believe that the economy and the new passport requirements, coupled with last years rain all of rally weekend conspired to dampen (pun intended) our 2009 plans. If you are interested in attending a new Wolf's Head Rally, and/or the Lake Superior Circle Tour in 2010 please drop me a note at: webmaster@wolfsheadrally.com and let me know how many people you'd be bringing and if tour, rally or both as we really need to know that the interest is there before we put in a lot ot time, money and work. We'd love to have this continue, would hate to see it die, but we think maybe 2010 might be the magic year.
SheldonMay 11, 2009 - Jack and I have put our hearts, pocketbooks, and souls into the Wolf's Head Rally & Tours for so many years now that it had become a huge part of our lives. Unfortunately we only have two registrations for the Lake Superior Circle Tour so far this year. Usually by this time we have about 70% of the riders signed up so this is very troubling. We believe that a combination of the new passport requirements and the devastated economy have conspired to put an end (for now) to the Lake Superior Circle Tour. We have reached the point where we have to purchase our insurance, which is very expensive, and we've decided that with only two registrations there is no way we can justify going on. A full refund will be made to those registrants.
Anyone wanting to still go around the lake during that period can let me know [Webmaster@wolfsheadrally.com] and I'll put them in contact with others who would like to do the same. It is always best to ride in small groups in Canada especially as there is no cell service and help can sometimes be two hundred miles away.
The Jim Hogan Fun Run is still a go. Anyone needing a place to stay before the rally are welcome to camp at Jack's House.
First Saturday in August, will be the camp-out at Jack’s house. Camp Friday thru Sunday.
Hopefully the economy will recover and at some future date the Rally and/or Tour will be revived and reinvigorated.
Sheldon
The Wolf's Head Circle the Lake Tour is not a large group ride, you are free to ride with whomever you choose although we do not recommend riding alone, and that you ride with a partner or several others from the tour..
To qualify for the buckle, patch and certificate, you MUST ride the entire route -- every inch of the route! Absolutely no trailer time! NADA. NONE. DON'T EVEN ASK! You must also sign into each checkpoint and have your "passport" stamped.
This tour provides a great way to ride some of the most beautiful and scenic roads in North America.
Ride for hours without seeing billboards or chain restaurants! Go at your own pace! Stop and enjoy the spectacular scenery when you feel like it!
Enjoy the solitude of being in a small group, yet have the security of a chase vehicle and the camaraderie of other motorcyclists.
When the Lake Superior Circle Tour ends the Wolf's Head Rally begins...
